Motorola DROID quick hands-on

The Motorola DROID is the first phone to be launched with the Android 2.0 software. It will come to the UK as the Motorola Milestone. It is, simply put, the fastest and most responsive Android phone so far; still not flawless in every respect but a notable improvement over its predecessors.

The design is tidy, if a little industrial, with its metal casing giving it a reassuringly weighty feel. It’s also slim: there’s definitely a nod to the RAZR in the look of this handset. Coupled with the new stand-out feature, Google Maps Navigation, this is one smartphone set to make a real impact.

Price and availability of the Milestone has not yet been announced, but don’t rule out seeing it in time for Christmas.
