Sony Ericsson Aspen announced with Windows Mobile 6.5.3

Sony Ericsson has unveiled its latest smartphone, Aspen, a touchscreen device with thumb keyboard, that also gives us our first official sighting of Windows Mobile 6.5.3. It’s what last year’s Windows Mobile 6.5 should have been, finally bringing finger friendly controls to the entire UI.

Archos confirms first Android smartphone

Personal media player speciaist Archos has confirmed its plan to add an Android-powered smartphone to its range.

Precise details are thin on the ground at the moment, other than that it will pack a 1GHz processor and the highest resolution screen yet seen on any current smartphone (the unusual 854 x 480 pixels, and mesuring 4.3″), all in a body no thicker than 10mm.

A spokesperson told us that the device would likely be available Sim-free and that they would also be looking at network deals.

The Archos Phone Tablet is expected to be unveiled officially at CES next January.
