Getting stuck in traffic is something Symbian smartphone users need never worry about again. The ITIS Mobile Traffic Client lets users access live local traffic information, wherever they are in the UK. It delivers traffic information regarding roadworks, incidents and congestion, length of delays, together with speed data where traffic is flowing at a reduced speed. The speed information is collected from the GPS data of over 80,000 fleet vehicles every day. The more descriptive incident information comes from a team of people in regional offices, working with the police, the Highways Agency, traffic cameras, and many other sources.

The app is free, and can be downloaded from the ITIS Holdings website.  You need to install both the progam and a map pack. It uses an estimated 300kb of data for a 30 minute journey, so a flat-rate data package is best for extended use.
