Good news for satnav users: you’ll use 12% less fuel than those who insist that their trusty road atlas will get them where they are going.
The results revealed that the drivers using navigation devices drove shorter distances and spent less time driving. Overall fuel consumption dropped from 8.3 litres/100 kilometres to 7.3 litres

I think we need a central-diagnostic-computer, with a GPS, fitted into the dashboard of a car. It would provide information about the car for example current mpg.
