TomTom issues map updates for flood-hit areas

With more rain forecast for Cumbria, TomTom today issues an alert to its customers about how to update their UK maps, using TomTom Map Share technology

With more rain forecast for Cumbria, TomTom today issues an alert to its customers about how to update their UK maps, using TomTom Map Share technology.

“Our unique Map Share technology is the only technology that lets people update maps on their sat navs instantly” says Damian Woodward, UK VP sales and marketing, TomTom. “We encourage all TomTom Map Share users to update their maps with the recent bridge closures in Cumbria, and other road obstructions to ensure a safe and reliable driving experience.”

The recent Map Share updates include:

Low Lorton Bridge, Low Lorton (Collapsed)
Northside Bridge, Workington (Collapsed)
Little Braithwaite Bridge (Collapsed)

TomTom’s Map Share technology is a unique technology that enables you to add to, update and personalise your maps on your device instantly. These changes can also be shared with the entire TomTom Map Share community.

To download the Cumbria changes directly onto one’s map, Map Share users simply need to connect their device to their computer and launch TomTom’s free desktop software, TomTom HOME. Once in TomTom HOME please click on “update your device” and all Map Share updates and corrections will be transferred to your device.
