Satnav specialist Navigon now offers live traffic information for more countries and roads than any other navigation provider following recent updates to its service, the company has announced.

Navigon brings live traffic updates across Europe

Navigon expanded its coverage to 18 European countries in 2010, and has also made the data available on busy inner-city streets or congested, so-called category-two diversion routes as well as main roads and motorways. The service pulls data from a number of sources, including 1.5 million Navigon LIVE users.

“People who use Traffic Live not only receive information but also help to constantly improve this service whenever they want to,” says Jörn Watzke, executive vice-president of Product Line Management at NAVIGON. “Thanks to the growing user group the service is becoming even more precise, which means that everybody ultimately benefits.”

Traffic Live is now available for all popular navigation platforms: as well as live PNDs, the real-time traffic information can also be used on the iPhone or on smartphones with the Android operating system.
