iPhone app review: Cogs for iPhone

The idea is to construct a machine out of cogs, gears and pipes before the time runs out. Each machine has a purpose, for example you may need to manipulate pieces to inflate a balloon, and these levels play a bit like Pipemania, albeit with more parts to control.
However, later levels get more complex; they may be in 3D, so you have to rotate the device to ensure all sides are each working or events must be triggered simultaneously. Control is via touching the screen to rotate or reposition the pieces. However, it’s a shame no use has been made of the iPhone’s tilt function (for instance to rotate 3D puzzles).
Inventor mode that takes you through the game’s first 10 levels (more can be purchased in batches of 10 for the same price as the game). Challenge mode awards medals for completing levels quickly or in as few moves as possible, with top scores uploaded to an online leader board.
