App review: Scan2PDF Mobile for Windows Mobile

Despite the wide range of business uses for a smartphone, the one thing that they still struggle with is one of the most basic, and often used: sending a hard copy of a document.
The slow demise of the fax machine is making the task even more difficult, even when you are not out on the road, as you encounter a clash between the traditional workplace and the paperless office.
Scan2PDF is not a mobile fax application, but it can be used in that way. It is a mobile scanner, using the built-in camera on your smartphone to photograph a document, which is then PDF’d ready to be sent as an email attachment.
As is always the case when using any smartphone camera, the amount of available light directly affects the performance, and in a reasonably well lit office the 3.2MP camera on our HTC Touch Pro was able to capture documents in good enough quality that even the small print on them remained readable.
The PDF-ing process was only a couple of clicks away, and you can even combine multiple paper docs into a single file.
At under a tenner for a single license (with reductions for volume orders) Scan2PDF Mobile is great value as well as a highly effective product.

Great review but Wizcode PhotoCopy Mobile has more features, is cheaper (30% off currently – $9.95) and the user interface is light years ahead.
