Android Marketplace may now be claiming over 10,000 apps but the quality still lags a long way behind iPhone equivalents. A case in point is Yukiyo, which looks like a promising Super Mario clone with 40 brightly drawn levels split over 4 different worlds.

However, with a choice of either sluggish tilt or sluggish touchscreen controls and cut-scenes that freeze your character but not the enemies around you (doh!) Yukiyo has none of the skill or class of Nintendo’s ancient but still classic original. Try the free Lite version first and hopefully the bugs will be ironed out by the time you read this.

Price: From £2.99
Verdict: 5/10
