Review: Gorillamobile

A tripod for a camera is a must for any serious photographer, but a tripod for a cameraphone is probably an accessory too far. Yet the Gorillamobile is a truly ingenious invention.
Each of the device’s three legs has 24 joints and can be bent and flexed in such a way that they can grip hold of virtually anything – a fence, the branch of a tree – in order that you can get the shot you are after. But because it is small and light it serves a far greater function than solely as a photography aid, it becomes a stand for your smartphone.
As a result you can position it so that you can watch videos comfortably when travelling, grip it to the handlebars of your bike in order to use your phone’s GPS when cycling, or just fashion it as a unique stand for your desk.
It’s a brilliant idea and really well executed. The Gorillamobile comes with a standard camera tripod mount, but also includes a suction cup or adhesive strips that will fit onto the back of pretty much any phone.
The Gorillamobile is a bargain for the price, and can be found online at even cheaper rates: an unusual product that is both fun and extremely useful.
