Review: HTC HD2

The HTC HD2 is an absolute giant of a device, its huge screen being the feature that will, ultimately, probably be the deciding factor on whether people like it or not.
That is because the screen measures a massive 4.3 inches across diagonal corners. That means the HD2 is large for the pocket and the hand. At 120mm tall, 67mm wide and a svelte 11mm thick it will challenge small pockets and it is impossible for those with all but the very largest hands to get a full screen sweep in comfortably.
The flip side is that the screen, with its 480 x 800 pixels, is superb at displaying information. Web sites, delivered courtesy of the Opera browser, look particularly stunning and the on screen keyboards which flip between wide and tall modes thanks to the built in accelerometer, are for once easy to prod at in tall mode as well as in wide mode.
The screen is capacitive and supports multitouch. Pinch to zoom woks beautifully in the Web browser as well as when looking at photos, and the screen is sharp, bright and clear. Because multi-touch is not officially supported in Windows Mobile, however, this feature is not available in third party applications.
