Review: HTC HD2

Eventually, of course, for all the goodness of the HTC Sense user interface, you do find yourself back in the Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional interface. It’s pushed further into the background than it was with HTC’s old TouchFLO UI enhancement, and some users might barely encounter it at all, but it is still there.
There’s no stylus provided with the HTC HD2 – and the capacitive screen won’t respond to taps from fingernails either – but because the screen is as large as it is we found prodding at it to make things happen was fairly comfortable all round.
The HD2 is probably the biggest a smartphone can get and still remain usable. Some will find it too large, although thanks to its slimness it never feels quite as large in the hand as it at first appears to be. Its size is, in the end, both its great advantage and its great drawback.
Yet the HD2 is undoubtedly the best smartphone we’ve seen running Windows Mobile for quite some time, and is a welcome shot in the arm for the flagging platform.
