Review: Vertical Leather Case Cover

At an alarmingly low price you might be sceptical about the Vertical Leather Case Cover but in fact it is a perfectly serviceable, if not entirely stylish home for your smartphone.

It is generic in design, so can be used with a wide range of smartphones or MP3 players (the internal width is approximately 60 mm) but that means you cannot used the device without removing it, other than to listen to music or charge the handset.

We found the fit to be quite snug on some phones – on the Nokia E71, for example, it held it very securely in place but we could never get it in or out without pressing at least one key on the keyboard, and you need to be quick on the draw to answer a call in time.

The design is clean and functional, and available in a couple of different colours. Although it has neither the look nor feel of a premium product, it is sturdy enough to provide sufficient protection to your device at a price that, for once, is difficult to argue with.
