Vodafone slash data roaming rates

Hot on the heels of its decision to slash roaming charges for calls and texts across Europe Vodafone has now announced that it now cutting data rates as well.

From 1st July users who sign up to the Vodafone Passport service can use up to 25MB of data per day for a maximum of £4.99. Light users who use less than 1MB in a day will be charged by the kilobyte, with charges averaging out at about 50p per 100KB.

3 has also announced it will cutting data charges in line with the recent EU directive. Accessing the internet via 3 across Europe will cost £1.29 per MB.

European MPs have agreed a deal that looks set to slash the cost of using a mobile phone abroad throughout Europe. So long as the deal is ratified by the European Parliament and each member state, prices for making calls, sending texts and using data overseas …
