First steps with your HTC Desire

Setting up a new Android phone is exceptionally easy and care has been taken to guide you through the initial steps. If you have a Google Mail account, make sure you have your information ready and you will be up and running in minutes.

1/ A Google account is required to use the Android Market and setting one up or using an existing one is child’s play. Your new Android phone will prompt you when it is turned on the first time and let you choose to create a new one if you so wish.

2/ The next step is to choose a username or to enter your current Google account details and then to verify your password.

3/ Your Android phone will now verify your details and once completed you will be asked if you want to auto-sync your data or do it manually.

4/ Your new or existing Google account will give you immediate access to the Android Market and is useful for all sorts of other apps. You can also set up an MS Exchange account or different email provider separately.
