Spb Traveler is the perfect mobile companion that gives users a wealth of knowledge and information at their fingertips.

The software helps owners keep track of their trips, provides city information, different time zones, global weather forecasts, city photo galleries and a host of must have tools. There is a live flight search facility, a host of converters including clothing size, currency, units of length, temperature, area, speed, weight volume and pressure.

There is a tipping calculator to avoid any after dinner faux pas and a time converter for all world zones. And, not least there is a 17 language phrase book to ensure you can always get what you want wherever you are.

Step 1: City Info
By default, Spb Traveller integrates itself into the Today screen with date, local time and 3-day weather forecast for New York, London, Moscow and Tokyo. To view a location simply tap the appropriate tab. Tap anywhere within a location to get an extended view of the location. Tap City Info to get information including population and links to the chosen city, ie Tokyo, in Wikipedia and in Wikitravel.

Step 2: City slideshow
The City Info window provides a thumbnail image of related images. Tap the thumbnail to start a slideshow of the included images. The program automatically displays the slideshow images with a set of controls. These allow for the navigation, backwards and forwards, through the images. Tap pause to view a specific image and tap again to start the slideshow. To view images only tap the image to remove the controls.

Step 3: Add/Remove City
In the top right corner of the extended view is a menu icon, tap to reveal a menu. This boasts Add City, Remove City, Create Meeting, Calculate Tips, Google Map and Update Pictures. Add City does exactly that, browse the list by name, country or airport, tap and the screen immediately updates with information about the selected option. To remove a city first select the city in the main screen, open the menu and select Remove City.

Step 4: Google Maps
Other notable options on the menu are Create Meeting, this allows users to adds details of an upcoming meeting or appointment. Add in a Subject, Notes, Start and End dates and the option for a timed Reminder. Calculate Tips is effectively a calculator which determines exactly how much a user should tip based on percentage. Google Maps is a very useful addition, Spb Traveler connects to Google Maps, if online, in the vicinity of the city or location currently open in the program.

Step 5: Trip Assistant
Tapping the Trip Assistant icon simply opens the My Trip window. To start creating an itinerary tap Add Item.. and select from either Flight, Hotel, Train, Car Rent, Cruise, Bus, Meeting, Activity and Note. Each section allows for the input of information relating to the chosen section. For example, Flight includes Flight No, Departure date and time, Departure city, Arrival date and time, City and terminal. Tap the Notes tab to input additional information. To create a new trip tap the menu icon in the top right corner of the screen.

Step 6: Flight search
Tap the Tools icon, third from the left, to reveal a host of tools with several highlights. Flights is a flight search tool, enter a criteria and wait for the results. Select a search result and hit the plus button and there is the option to Add to Current Trip or Add to New Trip. To start a new flight search tap the back arrow to reach the first screen and tap New Search. This is where any searches are saved for quick access.

Step 7: Phrase book
Tap the main Phrase book icon to reveal a long list of common phrases with the accompanying translation. To change the language tap the EN-IT, this may differ, menu link in the toolbar to view an alternative option. Try English to French, German, Russian and many more. To change the main language scroll to the bottom of the language list and tap Main Language and select from the list. Tap category in the toolbar to pick a more selective selection of phrases.

Step 8: Converters
The remaining tools in the set are affectively all converters. Tap Tipping to calculate the percentage needed to pay in the final bill. Units helps convert temperature, Length, Weight, Speed and more. Tap the calculator icon to enter a new value. Clothing converts clothing sizes, eg, Europe to US. Currency is a currency converter which allows multiple conversions and can be update for real-time rates by tapping Update.

Step 9: Time waster
Travelling is not always the most exhilarating experience but tap Geo Game to help pass the minutes and hours. Select from All, Capitals and Flags and tap the right arrow to start the quiz. The answers are multiple choice, tap one, if the right answer is selected a 3D globe appears pinpointing the appropriate location. If wrong the answer becomes unavailable. Tap the back arrow at any time to exit the game.

Step 10: 3D Globe
Tapping the 3D Globe icon reveals a 3D image of the Earth. Tap the first icon in the toolbar to view the options. Show Night and Show Sky add real time effect to the globe while Animation allows the globe to rotate when using a stylus. Cities will place a pin on the globe relating to cities that current reside in the program. Select Trip to view the location of a trip. Use the compass icon to roate the globe and the plus and minus buttons to zoom. Finally, hit the far right arrow to hide the toolbar.
