iPhone tips: Make websites easier to read

The iPhone browser is good for showing full web pages, but there is a way you can make content even more readable on your iPhone.

Some websites are simply too complex to view easily on mobile Safari because of the obvious screen size restrictions, especially on the older models that don’t have the Retina Display. There is, however, a method to enhance readability via a simple bookmark and here we will show you how to set it up.

Step 1

Go to the Readability website on your desktop computer and drag the Readability bookmarklet to your bookmarks folder.

Step 2

Now you need to synchronise your new bookmark using iTunes or MobileMe. Make sure the bookmarks option is checked in the sync settings.

Step 3

If you click the new bookmark when in a complex page, it will automatically reformat it to your preferred layout settings.
