Manage your security with SplashID
We have so many passwords to remember these days

We have so many passwords to remember these days. Now you can keep them stored all securely on your BlackBerry
We’ll be installing SplashID on your BlackBerry and computer so you can carry around confidential information in complete safety. Once SplashID’s been installed you can enter the information on your computer or BlackBerry and have that information synchronised between the two.
1 Installing SplashID
The first step involves installing SplashID on your BlackBerry and desktop. Go to http://splashdata.com/splashid/download/bb.htm on your PC. The easiest way to get SplashID onto your BlackBerry is to install it over the air (OTA). You can do this by using the SMS or mobile email option. A link is then sent to your BlackBerry which when clicked allows you to install it over the air.
If you want to synchronise the information entered into SplashID to your PC, you must download and install the SplashID Windows application also found at this link.
2 Set up SplashID
Once SplashID has been installed on your BlackBerry, run it and enter your password and password hint. Note down the password because if you chose to install the SplashID desktop application, you’ll need to use the same password there.
If you did install the SplashID desktop application, you need to configure the BlackBerry Desktop Manager to automatically synchronise with the BlackBerry once it is connected. To do this, run the Desktop Manager and click Synchronise. Make sure that Run Add-In actions is checked. Then click Add-Ins and make sure that SplashID Intellisync Add-In is checked.
3 Create new items

You can create new items on your PC or BlackBerry since they will synchronise between each other. When you create a new item you first choose a Type. SplashID comes preloaded with many default types like Credit Cards, Clothes Sizes, Email Accounts and so on. If a type is not there you can create new ones. Next you choose the Category. Business and Personal are there by default but you can add more.
4 Change Preferences
We found that the default font setting used by SplashID can be hard on the eyes. The benefit of the small font, however, is that you can fit more information on a single screen. We suggest setting it to a medium font. To do this, click the BlackBerry Menu button and choose Preferences. Change the Font to Medium, then click the BlackBerry Menu button and choose Done to save the change.
5 BlackBerry encryption

SplashID uses Blowfish encryption, but if you’d like to add a second layer of encryption, you can enable the BlackBerry encryption. To do this, go to Options>Security Options> General Settings. Change the Content Protection to Enabled. If you don’t use a BlackBerry lock password, you will need to choose one.
