7. Accessorize!
Already, companies such as Seidio (www.seidio.com) and Cellet (www.cellet.com) have jumped on the Palm Pre bandwagon, making accessories such as belt clips and extra chargers. You can get a good run-down of what is available at OnlyPre.com, or visit the Palm store.

8. Use memory wisely
Palm opted against equipping the Pre with a memory card slot, meaning you are limited to the 8GB of internal storage on the device.

9. Will/won’t work with iTunes
One interesting feature of the Pre is its ability to sync with iTunes… sometimes. Each new version of iTunes breaks this feature; each new update to the Pre re-introduces it again.

10. Multi-tasking gotcha
The more you use the Pre, the more you will be tempted to run many apps at once. With only a small amount of internal memory for apps (Palm does not release exactly how much is available), the device can become quickly overloaded – apps will run sluggish and the Pre may stop working altogether. It’s best to run just three or four apps at most.

11. Slice of fun?
The Palm Pre has a rather sharp edge on the slide-out keypad, so be careful when you use it so as to avoid a cut. It’s also remotely possible to pinch the side of your hand in the slide-out keypad when you close it. It’s best not to rest your palm (ahem!) on the Pre when you use the slide-out and just grab the device and use your thumb to slide the keypad in and out.

12. Tiny menus
The Palm Pre interface supports gestures and touch control, but it also has very small icons that might be hard to find and harder still to select. Some of them are listed below the main screen – you can tap the e-mail icon to access your mail, for example. And, each app has a drop-down menu in the upper-left corner that is also hard to find at first.
