Just a few weeks after showing of the first results of its return to Windows Mobile Acer has announced plans for four more phones at CeBIT, including one set to be sold for around £45.
All are currently only known under condenames F1, L1, C1 and E1, and it is the latter two that will be pitched as true ‘first smartphones’. Acer plans to sell the devices through networks, where it is hoped they would be free after subsidy, and in a position to drive up usage of flat rate data plans in the process.
Firmer details are still thin on the ground at this stage. All four phones will be running Windows Mobile 6.5, which means it will be several months yet before their official launch.
